Pixpanda deserves their
high rating and all the great positive reviews. In fact, I even saw their
rating INCREASE, from 4.8 to 4.9 loll. I would download dozens of pixel apps
but after trying them I don't like them. I stopped using them and uninstalled,
except for Sandbox as the only other one I’m using. I'm pretty obsessive
compulsive.
Someone said you can't save pictures for later. The workaround is to color (quite a lot maybe around 15 pixels but you don't even have to do the right colors) and then it is put into your profile for whenever you want to come back to color it.
1. I will address what is written in pixpanda’s description.
a.
“PixPanda is the best app to color by number and draw modern masterpieces
based on numbers! This sandbox style coloring game is popular all over the
world for both kids and adults… Let's make PixPanda - color by number be your
favorite hobby and get addicted to it again!” Really, coloring pixel art is the
best
b. “Excellent features: - Daily update: new
pictures will be updated every day. Get notified to check the new arrival and
start coloring.
- Time lapse video: save your masterpiece as short time lapse video to impress
everyone or photos
- Share with others:
share with family and friends on Instagram, Facebook or other social platforms.
You will find so many free and fascinating pictures in PixPanda, like flowers,
animals and food, which suit for both adults and kids.” I can’t improve on
what Pixpanda said; it’s really true. There really is a large variety of
pictures. People upload designs all the time, and you can color their works,
too. There is something for everyone, here. My interests in coloring: I am pretty
picky about coloring pages and enjoy coloring simple and/or cute-looking
pictures. “Easy to color: color pages according to numbers and the highlighted area.”
2. Some exclusive features of Pixpanda (as far as I know; I apologize if other
apps have them and I simply didn’t notice).
a.
You can change the PIXEL SHAPE; it is so cute!
b. Perhaps my favorite
tool: "bucket coloring" or coloring in 9 square cells at once. It
makes coloring the small cells less of a pain but... still has the movement of
coloring! In effect it is a bigger brush!
c.
There is a night mode. This is actually a new feature and I don’t… color in
the dark? So I haven’t tried it yet but I really appreciate the idea because I
hate bright screens.
d. The facebook of pixel
coloring. They enabled people to recolor other people’s uploads. Everyone gets
a profile. They can choose to publicly post for pixpanda’s “gallery” for other
people to see. You are notified when people like your posts and also if they
choose to color the picture you chose to post. You can choose your profile
picture. You can follow people and vice versa. You can leave comments for
posts. I found this profile feature a nice way to see what styles and
personalities people have. You can find people who have similar tastes as you
so it’s a great way to find pictures that you want to color. Or you can follow
people to admire their art. This profile system is very private though. Very
limited so you don’t get any information about others. I love social media and
sharing plus I love order so I really love how pixpanda is such a unique app.
3. I’m not sure if these features are exclusive but I really appreciate them:
a.
wrong color vibration
b. You can mute
notifications (I like notifications; I wonder if you would still get
notifications while WITHIN the app, not while it’s not open)
c. “Smart borders-blank area can’t be
colored…
d. Check coloring
progress on coloring page”
e.
I appreciate how pixpanda often gives you a number for filling in whites
or coloring backgrounds. Otherwise, 80% of the picture you aren’t coloring.
Pixpanda also lets you earn points with ads (actually they call them hearts; I
loveee hearts. It’s even cuter; great design, Pixpanda!) so you can unlock the
vip pro pictures
4. The name is so adorable hahaha. The design and each part is also soooo
clean, intuitive and perfect. There are also very little ads imo. It is soooo
user-friendly. I feel pixpanda made the app so it’s impossible to be confused.
It’s deceptive how many options they have when they make the app one of the
most user-friendly and simple layout apps I’ve seen. Yes, you can EASILY zoom
in and out to your hearts content, in any which way you want to color.
5. Multiple color palettes: it’s like making a whole new picture. I don't
enjoy choosing individual colors; I hate coloring things where you choose the
color. I think the big reason for that is that I hate feeling I chose the wrong
color. I’m not sure if the colors will look good. I would feel unsure that I
choose colors also that go well together and I would always be dissatisfied.
There are just way too many color options out there. This makes pixpanda, pixel
coloring and color by number activities stress-free; you don’t have to be
concerned of that. You can just color without thinking, and that is such a
freeing feeling. “Enjoy creating anti-stress pixel art with PixPanda… anti-stress therapy…
This pixel coloring book as a pixel art therapy helps you relieve stress and
anxiety from reality. Whenever you want to relax and develop your
concentration, just open PixPanda and start drawing.” It really feels like
anti-stress therapy; it’s pretty perfect. This feature is interesting. I
colored the same dog ten times but it keeps giving different palette options
each time you color it so I am thinking the options are infinite.
6.Some features that that aren’t for me that you might be
interested in (and gives people even MORE choices on how they want to do pixel
art and engage in pixpanda. I appreciate that they give the tools to make it
more fun for some people). Plus, how I like to use pixpanda; I describe some
features here that from the beautiful settings button they put on your profile
page, I turn off. They complicate coloring. I relish choosing the color I want
to use. Isn’t that part of what makes coloring fun? That you pick a color and
splash it across the blank area, as you choose. Plus, it gives you a
concentration of picking the parts you want the color to be.
a.
“Bot mode- every cell you tap will automatically painted with the correct
color.
b. Shield mode- Only
those cells with the same number as the selected one will be painted in
continuous coloring.
c.
Bucket mode- Tap a cell to fill the area with the same number around it.”
d. Feeling confused by
which cells I’ve done: They have coloring SPECIAL EFFECTS, but that just
distracts me from feeling satisfied in filling the boxes. It looks like you are
overfilling each one. The MAGNIFIER. I don’t get the point of this one. I feel
it makes the coloring more difficult. It doesn’t magnify it to make the
coloring cells bigger when you are zoomed out. It even shows colored cells as
uncolored; how are you supposed to keep track? Another app had those special
effects, and you couldn't turn them off, so I deleted it, even if it looked
like there were cute pictures to color. However, I still think it can make
pixpanda more fun because who doesn’t love more options.
